Troubleshooting Tips

Remove the blue tape!
Please check to make sure that you've removed the blue tape from the print head before trying to install your cartridge. Your printer will not recognize the cartridge if you have not removed the tape or silicone strip. (true for most HP, Lexmark, Dell, & some Canon cartridges)

Wick the ink out
If your ink cartridge seems to be clogged or is not printing clearly, try this trick. Dampen a paper towel and sit the cartridge on it with the print head flat on the towel. Allow the paper towel to wick out the ink for a minute or so. Do this on a kitchen counter or some other surface that is non-porous and easy to clean. Next, using the paper towel, apply pressure to the print head and you should see a nice solid "footprint." Then try a test print. If this doesn’t help, please return the cartridge to the store. We’ll try a few additional tricks to see if we can get it working again.

Canon cartridges
Canon has a specific series in which the cartridges "marry" to the printer they were originally used in. These cartridges will not work in any other printer and for that reason we must refill your exact cartridges. In most cases we can refill these cartridges in 10-15 minutes tops. These cartridges also have information on their chips which causes the printer to recognize the cartridge as being empty even after we refill them. These cartridges are not empty! Most Canon printers can be reset to holding down the Stop/Resume button for about 5 seconds. This resets the ink monitor on the printer and then allows you to print worry free. (true for PG-30, PG-40, CL-31, & CL-41 cartridges)

Recommendations

Know your cartridge number
In order for us to most efficiently help you please lookup your cartridge number before coming to our store or giving us a call. In most cases we can figure out what cartridge you need without your cartridge number but sometimes it's impossible without either the cartridge number or the printer model number.

Have a spare toner cartridge
Most businesses realy heavily on printing documents for daily use. We suggest you keep a spare toner cartridge at all times so your not scrambling when your cartridge runs out. When you begin using your spare give us a call and order another cartridge. Don't allow your business to come to a hault because you can't print.
